When I started Happy Lilliput,  I had a simple goal—to create sustainable, zero-waste clothing that brings happiness to children while providing employment to women in marginalized communities. Today, as I reflect on how far we’ve come, I realize that a big part of our journey has been shaped by the power of networking.

Recently, I was honored to receive the “Inspiring Innovator Award in Business by Women’s Business League. This moment was a dream come true, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible connections I’ve made along the way. Just a year ago, I joined the Women’s Business League (WBL) feeling nervous and unsure about navigating the business world in a new country. I didn’t know anyone, and everything felt unfamiliar.

But being part of this community changed everything for me. I met strong, inspiring women who encouraged me, believed in my work, and reminded me that when women support each other, incredible things happen. Networking isn’t just about meeting people—it’s about building relationships that inspire growth. Over the past year, I’ve met amazing designers, entrepreneurs, and sustainability advocates. Whether it was at local events, through social media, or during my sourcing trips, every connection brought new opportunities and ideas to Happy Lilliput.

One of my favorite experiences was presenting Happy Lilliput at a sustainable fashion event. Sharing our story—how we create handcrafted dresses while empowering women in India—touched so many people. It reminded me that our brand is not just about clothing but about creating something meaningful for the world. Social media has also been a game-changer for us. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn have allowed me to share our journey with a global audience. Hearing how our dresses are part of cherished moments, from birthdays to family holidays, motivates me to keep going.

As I look ahead, I’m excited to continue growing and connecting with more people who believe in our mission. Networking has taught me that success is never a solo journey—it’s built on the trust, support, and collaboration of others.
